Urethane Sealant And Adhesive

Urethane Foam
Urethane sealant and adhesive is of particular use and value in the marine industry. At Gelcote International, we provide a two-part liquid, expanding urethane foam that is a closed cell, 2 ½ lb density pourable form that’s water resistant too.
The expanding foam can be used for a variety of purposes from molding, gasket support and even void filling and insulation purposes. Once the Gelcote International urethane sealant foam is cured, it can be laminated over with all types of polyester, epoxy or vinyl ester resin without the risk of melting.

What To Expect From Our Urethane Expanding Foam

The Gelcote International 2 part urethane expanding foam product can be poured in many layers with superior bonding between layers to be expected. The temperature is vitally important when working with expansion foam. Urethane sealant and adhesive products require a temperature of higher than 75 degrees Fahrenheit or the expansion rate will be reduced and more foam will be required. Our product, which is marine grade, is commonly used for the following:

  • Architectural castings and support
  • Filling under decks and other flotation devices
  • Moldings
  • Void and cavity filling
  • Acoustic insulation
  • Thermal insulation

Tips For Working Well With Our Urethane Sealant & Adhesive Kits

In order to achieve the best results when working with urethane sealant and adhesive kits, it’s important to know a few things. Make sure that you have acetone available to clean up spillage of wet foam (dried and hardened foam spillages will need to be sanded away). Always mix 100 Parts A to 110 Parts B and try to work quickly. Also, avoid pouring the expandable foam into voids that are faced with glass as the class will likely crack due to expansion pressure.
